Fratzenstuhl <\/strong><\/p>

Ein Hauptmotiv der Renaissanceschnitzkunst ist die Fratze oder Maske. Diese Schreckgesichter, auch Gorgo oder Medusa genannt, begleiten den Menschen seit urt\u00fcmlichen Zeiten. Es gibt sie als Neidk\u00f6pfe an Geb\u00e4uden und Kultpl\u00e4tzen. Sie haben nach innen einen abschirmenden, sch\u00fctzenden und nach au\u00dfen einen bedrohlichen, angreifenden Charakter.<\/p>

In diesem Fall handelt es sich um einen Barocken Fratzenstuhl aus der Epoche des Historismus (um 1880\/90), der einem dieser Art aus dem 17. Jh. nachempfunden ist. Die \u00fcppig beschnitzte R\u00fcckenlehne in Form eines grotesken Gesichts hat dieselbe apotrop\u00e4ische, also unheilabwehrende Bedeutung, wie sie auch den Neidk\u00f6pfen und den Kleiekotzern zugeschrieben wird.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Schlangenstuhl<\/strong><\/p>

Sich \u00fcberdeckende und sich kreuzende Figuren besitzen in der volkst\u00fcmlichen Vorstellungswelt oft zauberische Kr\u00e4fte. Magisches Analogiedenken schreibt der Form, durch Endlosigkeit v\u00f6llig geschlossen, die Wirkung einer abwehrenden, hemmenden Zauberkraft zu. Amulettartige Zeichen wie Knoten, Schlingen, Netzwerk, Zopfmuster\u201a Flechtwerk etc. sind zentrale Paradeformen heidnischen Denkens.<\/p>

Die Schlange gilt als geheimnisumwittert, zwiesp\u00e4ltig gef\u00e4hrlich, aber durch ihr Wissen auch anziehend. Wird entgegen den heidnischen Vorstellungen, wo sie als heilige Hausschlange gef\u00fcttert und als Gl\u00fccksbringer verehrt wurde, im christlichen Sinne als Paradiesschlange mit dem B\u00f6sen gleichgesetzt.<\/p>

Die christlichen Religionen habe es nicht gern gesehen, wenn die Bauern bis tief ins 19. Jahrhundert diese Motive den katholischen Symbolen des Herzens und des Pelikans vorgezogen haben.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
