Geweihter Holzscheit gegen Unwetter, S\u00fcddeutschland, Ende 19. Jh.<\/strong><\/p>

Inschrift: \u201eJesus Christus durch dein kostbares Blut soll das Zeichen uns sch\u00fctzen vor Feuer und Wind [unleserlich \u2026] Jesus Christus hilf uns.\u201c<\/p>

In manchen Orten wurden zu Ostern w\u00e4hrend der Fr\u00fchmesse kleine Holzst\u00fccke, sogenannte Weihscheite, geweiht. Dies waren l\u00e4ngliche Holzst\u00fccke, die kurz mit der Spitze im Osterfeuer angesengt wurden. Bei drohenden Unwettern in den Sommermonaten sollen diese Weihscheite, in den Ofen geworfen, Haus und Hof vor Brand und Blitzschlag sch\u00fctzen. Andernorts wurden sie auch als \u201eFeuerschutz\u201c auf den Dachboden gelegt.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
